The integrated access point complies with IEEE 802.11n (draft 2.0), providing wireless transmission speeds of up to 300Mbps. My second Planex router and I should have learned my lesson the first time round.
As an AP its fine but it is just terrible at managing security and connections. It needs regular restarts to clear connections that should have terminated. If Upnp is enabled my SPF firewall gets spammed with port scans from the router address causing the firewall block the routers IP and finally get bogged down and lock up which means a system reboot. No its not normal because my 3com router worked perfectly for 3 years with the same setup im using on this thing. The port forwarding is erratic sometimes working sometimes failing. The usb attached file/media server function does not work at all, although the device recognises the HD my PC my notebook and my PS3 are all unable to locate the network device. 4 emails to Planex support in one week and not a single response. |
