Netgear CG3100

details: EuroDOCSIS 3.0 Wireless-N VoIP Cable Gateway
hardware type: Cable Gateway
date added: 2010.01.24
updated: 2012.08.30
The CG3100 Wireless Cable Gateway combines a cable modem, an integrated 4-port router, 802.11n wireless access point and two FXS ports for VoIP. The gateway is EuroDOCSIS 3.0 compliant. It is backwards compatible with DOCSIS 1.0/ DOCSIS 2.0 standarts.

The integrated access point complies with 802.11n (draft) standard and supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption. It uses WMM (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network. It also uses Wi-Fi Multimedia Power Save (WMM-PS, a.k.a., Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery (u-APSD)) to save up to 40% of the battery life of WMM-PS devices connected to the AP.

The router supports a variety of VoIP features, such as Caller ID, 3-way conferencing and Echo Cancellation. It provides VPN pass-through for IPSec, L2TP and PPTP. A built-in SPI firewall protects the network against intruders and malicious attacks.

According to Netgear technical support, this product is only available to ISPs, not to home/business consumers. You would have to rent, or perhaps purchase, through the ISP.
