Linksys E1000

details: Wireless-N Router
hardware type: Wireless Router
date added: 2010-03-31
updated: 2017-01-28
The Linksys E1000 is a wireless broadband router with a single 10/100Mbps WAN port and four 10/100Mbps LAN ports.

The integrated access point complies with IEEE 802.11n, supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption. The E1000 uses WMM (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network. A WPS button allows for easy wireless security configuration.

This router provides VPN pass-through for IPSec, L2TP and PPTP. It has a built-in SPI firewall that provides a reliable protection against hackers and malicious attacks.

The E1000 can be easily configured via Web-based configuration utility or by using the Cisco Connect software. It has three simple steps to get you set up a secure wireless network. An user-friendly interface allows you to choose from simple to advanced settings. In addition to a simple wireless network setup wizard, the Cisco Connect software includes parental controls (access time, websites) and allows for simple management of a separate, secure network for guests.

E1000 differs from higher-end E-Series routers in that it offers only single 2.4GHz band operation, and 100Mbps (as opposed to Gigabit) ports.
