Lancom 1781AW

details: Wireless-N ADSL2+ VPN Router
hardware type: DSL Wireless Router
date added: 2012-12-13
updated: 2013-01-17
The professional Lancom 1781AW VPN router provides secure Internet access and, thanks to the integrated ADSL2+ modem, it connects directly to a standard DSL line without additional hardware.

With its extensive VPN capabilities and Gigabit Ethernet, the device provides secure, high-performance connectivity to branch offices and remote workers. The four ports of the integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch are energy-efficient as per IEEE 802.3az: if no data is transmitted over an interface, its power consumption shuts down automatically.

Three of the LAN ports can be switched as additional WAN ports with load balancing and auto-failover. A built-in USB port allows for 3G USB modem connection.

With its integrated dual band WLAN module as per IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, the Lancom 1781AW provides wireless networking for clients. Secure wireless connection is assured by its support of a wide range of security standards such as IEEE 802.1i (WPA2), 802.1X and WEP encryption. Thanks to multi-SSID, the wireless LAN supports multiple networks that are securely separated from one another.

The router's VPN gateway supports five simultaneous IPsec channels, with support for 25
channels as an optional extra.

Additionally, an object-oriented stateful-inspection firewall protects the network with intrusion prevention and Denial of Service protection.
