The PRI-885 is a Multi-WAN router with 4 WAN ports plus 1 DMZ port (configurable as 5th WAN port).
The most unique feature of the Edimax's Professional and Industrial grade PRI-885 PentaWAN broadband routers is the support for inbound load-balancing. This is the critical feature that enables you to have reliable, fail-safe, self-hosting of Internet servers.
Inbound load balancing is with respect to the PRI-885, whereby Internet service requests are incoming to the PRI-885 (Inbound) to access your Internet Web servers on the LAN.
With multiple WAN connections and the PRI-885, you will get the effective combined Quad-WAN speeds for all your LAN users. You will also get a redundant, fault-tolerant, and fail-over capability to insure that you will have non-stop Internet access when some of the ISP?s link is down.
