D-Link DIR-635

details: RangeBooster N 650 Router
hardware type: Wireless Router
date added: 2006-08-09
updated: 2014-09-30
The D-Link DIR-635 is Pre-N draft 802.11n compliant and claims performance of up to 650% faster and 5x farther than plain 802.11g, while remaining compatible with g/b devices.

Note: Version 1.0 of the manual states the unit supports WDS, however seems it was removed in version 1.01.

WDS mode information is on page 45 of the manual. It should be under the "Advanced Wireless" settings.

False, Manual Revision 1.1 do not mention any WDS mode !

Page 45 -> 'Administrator Settings'

So informations are wroog, and if you success for , can you explaine to me , how to do it then ?

You are right, I just verified that the manual was updated, and version 1.01 excludes WDS mode. This may be an issue for D-Link tech support, there was clearly WDS support in version 1.0 --> ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir635/Manual/dir635_manual_100.zip

Yes , ok , the most sad thing in this case is, I sent them two emails to explin this case, and ask what they plan for the future... No answer from them.

Clearly they lost a good customer and sure my choice now for any future product.

I can not support company that:

1 - Does not reply to email sent to their technical center ( Multiple emails ).
2 - Gives false information inside their technical sheet.
3 - Offers such poor support once the product has been bought.

P.S : Next time please, for your review TEST IT really... And try to avoid to make marketing post !

regards

Hi got this old router and wanted to install it again. what do I need to do to find out the password? (admin wont work)
by Philip - 2010-08-06 10:51
Many routers can be reset to the factory default settings (including admin password) by holding a reset button for 10+ seconds while powering up the router.

No password is the default password after reset (blank)...
