details: 802.11ac Dual-Band Wireless-AC1200 Gigabit Router
hardware type: Wireless Router
date added: 2014-05-11

Delivering 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz concurrent bands at up to 300 Mbps and 867Mbps, respectively, the RT-AC56R has a total speed of up to 1167Mbps.

ASUS AiRadar intelligently strengthens wireless connectivity using 802.11ac beamforming technology, high power amplification, and exclusive ASUS RF fine-tuning. This ensures extended coverage, dynamic data speed increases, and enhanced stability.

On RT-AC56R you can easily set up a VPN server with OpenVPN and PPTP protocol support, with no need for paid VPN services or a dedicated VPN server. RT-AC56R can also turn your network-connected devices into VPN-enabled clients via OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP protocols with no need to install VPN software on each of them.

The RT-AC56R supports up to four wireless networks over the 2.4 GHz band and four over the 5 GHz band, so you can set up usage times and limit access with advanced controls, including parental settings.
