Broadview Networks, a communications provider, recently released a map of the average Internet connection speed in each state. The company used the Akamai data to put together a color-coded map showing the range of Internet-speed performance across the U.S. The complete listings from Broadview can be found here. The fastest Internet speed can be found in Virginia at 13.7 mbps. States with slower Internet speeds include New Mexico, Mississippi, West Virginia, Kentucky, Montana, Arkansas and Alaska, the slowest Internet speed in any U.S. state, at 7 mbps. According to Akamai, if a state has an average speed higher than 10 Mbps it counts as having "high broadband." In all, 26 states achieved this status. And, no state fell into the "low broadband" category, which is an average lower than 4 Mbps. Read more -here-
