In a try to find a sentenced cybercriminal, the FBI is offering the highest ever reward of up to $3 million. The money is given for any information that would help the agency to arrest the Russian hacker Evgeniy Bogachev.

The FBI has circulated "Wanted" posters around the world showing Bogachev in a striped polo shirt. The hacker is believed to be in Russia. His last known residence was in Anapa, Russia.

"Although we were able to significantly disrupt the GameOver Zeus and Cryptolocker criminal enterprise, we have not yet brought Bogachev himself to justice," a Justice Department spokeswoman says.

Bogachev, known under the nicknames "lucky 12345" and "slavik", has been charged by federal authorities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with computer hacking, bank fraud and deployment of malicious software known as GameOver Zeus. Bogachev is also connected with the "Cryptolocker" ransomware.

The GameOver Zeus botnet, a network of virus-infected computers, has affected thousands of small businesses. It steals passwords and then lets hackers drain bank accounts. Cryptolocker, a software that encrypts files on computers, was used to extract ransom payments from computer owners who wanted access to their files.
