This week Samsung is opening in India what it's calling the world's largest mobile phone factory in the world's second largest smartphone market. South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new factory on Monday. "Samsung is a long-term partner of India. We 'Make in India', 'Make for India' and now, we will 'Make for the World'," said HC Hong, CEO of Samsung India, in the release. "We are aligned with Government policies and will continue to seek their support to achieve our dream of making India a global export hub for mobile phones." The factory is situated in Noida, a satellite city of the Indian capital Delhi. The plant expansion, which spans 35 acres, or 141,000 square meters, has the potential to double Samsung's smartphone output in the country once at full capacity. Samsung says it'll use the plant to make entry-level phones that sell for less than $100, as well as flagship devices like the Galaxy S9. The expansion, which will be completed in phases, should be wrapped up by 2020. Read more -here-
