Opera introduces a free VPN, built into its web browser

2016-04-21 16:20 by

In an attempt to attract more users, Opera has released a new version of its browser, which has integrated a free and unlimited VPN service. It is available for Mac and PC with developer version 38.0.2204.0.

The new feature will let users access sites blocked in their countries and to surf anonymously in Internet. In addition, a VPN also provides a secure "tunnel" to the destination, preventing theft of credentials and personal information like passwords.

Since the service is integrated directly into the browser, there are no third-party extensions to install, no monthly fee and no account is needed.

The only thing that the user has to do is to turn the service on in the Settings menu, and then to switch between virtual locations. The current version offers three options: US, Canada and Germany. The company promises to add more countries in the browser's stable version.
