Netgear has made a "hat trick" of CES Innovations Awards for all three routers in its Nighthawk line of 802.11ac wireless networking products. Both the Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band WiFi Router (R8000) and the Nighthawk X4 AC2350 Smart WiFi Router (R7500) are among this year's honorees.

R8000R7500The company is now adding multiple new features to the Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Router (R7000). Nighthawk R7000 now supports NETGEAR ReadyCloud for easier remote access to USB storage and features an enhanced NETGEAR genie for remote network management. It also includes a new install wizard to make it easier than ever to use your Nighthawk in conjunction with your existing ISP gateway for faster speeds and better wireless coverage. You can add these new capabilities to your Nighthawk through a free firmware update available this month on the NETGEAR Support website.

At CES, Netgear is expanding its family of WiFi Range Extenders by three products, including the next-generation, CES Innovations Award honoree Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Range Extender (EX7000) (U.S. MSRP $169.99). Worthy of the Nighthawk name, the Nighthawk EX7000 delivers 802.11ac performance with up to 1900 Mbps of dual-band WiFi speed. Along with the AC1200 WiFi Range Extender (EX6150) (U.S. MSRP $119.99) and the AC750 WiFi Range Extender - Essentials Edition (EX3700) (U.S. MSRP $79.99), the three Range Extenders give you an easy and effective way to fight WiFi dead zones so you can enjoy whole-home connectivity for HD video streaming and online gaming on any device in any location of your home.

R7000CM500All of the new extenders offer a redesigned NETGEAR genie experience with a new look and feel, an easier installation, and improved features such as access point mode, WiFi coverage controls, and access scheduling for parental controls. Additionally, the new genie user interface will automatically adapt to your device to provide an optimal viewing experience no matter the size of your device screen.

The company also announced the new CM500 High Speed Cable Modem. It is a CableLabs-certified DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem that supports the highest data tier plans offered by major U.S. cable Internet providers. It provides a fast cable speed with 16x4 Channel Bonding that supports 16 download and 4 upload channels simultaneously, suitable for streaming HD videos, faster downloads, and high-speed online gaming. The CM500 supports IPv6 and is also equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port with auto-sensing technology, so you'll benefit from faster wired speeds when connecting your computer or your wired or wireless router. The CM500 High Speed Cable Modem is available this quarter at an MSRP of $99.99 in the U.S.
