The Netflix Android app is getting a notable update next month, adding vertical previews for movies and TV shows. With the new feature, Netflix users will be able to see 30-second video previews displayed vertically on their mobile devices, thus having more versatility when deciding on how to watch trailers.

The vertical-video short trailers flow one into the next, but you can swipe back and forth through the lineup. If you come upon a trailer that you enjoy but you don't have time to watch the show or movie right then, you can add it to your watchlist by tapping a plus mark at the bottom of the screen.

The Netflix TV app has already been offering such a feature for several years now, and the company is now extending the functionality to the mobile app as well.

Mobile video previews in the Netflix app will be available for "many hundreds of titles," according to Netflix's Todd Yellin and will include both originals and licensed shows.
