More firms pull support for SOPA

Sony Electronics, Nintendo and Electronic Arts have dropped support for the controversial SOPA bill, after threats of internet attack from groups like Anonymous.

"Your support of the act is a signed death warrant to SONY Company and Associates," says a video from the hacktivist group Anonymous posted at Youtube. "Therefore, yet again, we have decided to destroy your network. We will dismantle your phantom from the internet. Prepare to be extinguished. Justice will be swift, and it will be for the people, whether some like it or not."

Meanwhile, other major companies are voicing protest about the bill, which aims to give the US the power to close down websites - including overseas sites - that it believes are infringing copyright.
