Firefox is now available for iOS2015-11-12 16:32 by DanielaTags: Firefox, iOS
Mozilla today launched Firefox for iOS. It had long refused to create such a browser because of Apple's requirements that browsers for iOS should use Apple's own rendering and JavaScript engines. On the desktop, Mozilla relies on its own technologies for both. Now it changed its position, and the browser is already available. Firefox is the latest major mobile browser for iOS. Apple's built-in Safari is the default browser for iOS, and Google's Chrome has also long been available. Opera also makes a browser for Apple's mobile devices. Firefox for iOS uses WebKit as rendering engine, rather than the usual Gecko. It includes features, such as private browsing mode; Firefox Sync; an intelligent "omnibar" address box; Visual Tabs lets you manage multiple browser tabs on the same screen. Users can download the new browser for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch on Apple's App Store (available only for iOS 8.2 or later). Read more -here-
