Edimax, a major Taiwanese wireless networking manufacturer, is shipping the BR-6475nD, Simultaneous Dual-Band Gigabit Wireless Router in North and South America.

The BR-6475nD provides 2 radios in a single unit, one at 2.4Ghz and the other at 5 GHz. Now, the user can divide up the network based on usage and dedicates the new 5 GHz channel for high data rate applications such a gaming, network storage, and multimedia streaming (IP-TV or Netflix) while at the same time uses the 2.4 Ghz band for normal Internet usage.

Edimax benefits from the latest 3rd generation wireless chipset technology such as the single chip for 2.4 GHz as well as the integrated 500 MHz single chip router for 5 GHz and for the Gigabit Interface. The router design is optimized for reduced chip count, low energy consumption and minimal heat generation, which ensures maximum durability and affordability.
