AT&T is launching a wireless receiver developed by Cisco, which aims to give U-verse TV customers more freedom to watch TV shows anywhere.

The new U-verse TV Wireless Receiver is the first fully-integrated wireless receiver available from any TV provider, and gives U-verse TV customers even more freedom to watch TV even in rooms without an existing U- verse outlet. The Wireless Receiver will be available for order on Monday, Oct. 31 at the price of $49 a one- time fee plus a $7 per month receiver rental fee.

"AT&T is bringing a new freedom to the TV experience, giving consumers the benefit of watching TV in virtually any room in the home. Cisco's wireless IPTV solution gives our customers flexibility with where they can place and watch their TVs, and offers a faster and simpler set-up process for customers and U-verse technicians", GW Shaw, executive director of U-verse marketing, AT&T said.
