Asus is expected to reveal the ZenFone AR during its press conference at CES on Wednesday, January 4th. However, Qualcomm has disclosed information about the phone a few days earlier.
The ZenFone AR will be powered by a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor, same class of chip as in the Google Pixel and OnePlus 3T. It is expected to carry a total of eight Kryo cores split into two processing units, with four cores operating at frequencies of up to 1.9GHz and the other four cores being clocked at up to 2.45GHz.
The ZenFone AR will follow in the footsteps of the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, the first phone with Google Tango. It will be the first phone to combine Google's Tango and Daydream in one. It will also work in the Google Daydream View headset.
