Amazon opens store with no cashiers, lines or registers2018-01-22 14:45 by DanielaTags: Amazon Go
Amazon today opened a supermarket with no checkout operators or self-service tills. The 1,800-square-foot store is stocked with the usual convenience-store items: candies, cookies, bagels, chips, sodas, milk, cheese and trail mix, among other snacks. First, customers have to download the Amazon Go app and scan their unique code to let themself in. The cashierless and line-free experience is made possible by "highly accurate" sensors and cameras that line the store's ceiling. Customers walk in and grab whatever they want. They can stick their purchases in their pockets, a bag or a pack — Amazon's Just Walk Out technology knows what they've taken, and what they've put back. Purchases are billed to customers' credit cards when they leave the store. Read more -here-
