Whats the difference between your external ip and your internal ip. Apparently it has alot to do with not being able to host games. =[ well, for me it does.

Your internal ip is the one assigned to you by a router or another PC which is sharing it's internet connection with you.
Or it may just be the ip of any PC on a LAN.
Usually internal ones are like 192.168.0.1
External is the one assigned you by your isp usually refered to as WAN IP Adress.
