Not to burst your bubble, but you need Sony's Double Desnsity burner to burn these

its a special cd-r recorder.

NEW HOPE.......
Yep there is a new hope for me or for us.
Today i was looking for more compresions tips on the making Divx movies and i found that i we can put 800MB IN ONE 700MB , YOU MUST USE NERO, and messing around with Nero setting i saw something that gave my "new hope" and its that there is an option that allows you to over burn the discs that have more capacity than a regular CD. So there is my "new hope". I just need the Cds to get here and try that out.
I ll let you know
PS: PLease dont through my hope to the ground, if you know that wont work let me discover that by myself THANKS

Well, if your looking for more burning capabilities with your standard CD-R/CD-RW drive, get your self some 99 Minute cd-R's they are out their, and its just a matter of finding a store that stockes them. I know of a few stores in Toronto that Do.

pasted from another of my replies:
99min CD-R's do exist but they are not compatible with all software/hardware, if you can find them
Mitsumi CR4804 & LG CED8080B/8083B do work for sure, as do CDRWin, Feurio!, DiskJuggler & CDRecord
(Some other burners will write up to 90min)

Those CDs only work with software that allows you overburn (like Nero and others ) that why i think i may be able to use the 1.3Gb CDs. Right now i can put 798MB in a single 700MB CD
80Min=700MB 90Min=800MB 99Min=almost 900MB
the 700MB Cds can be overburned to 798, the 800MB ones can be overburned to 897MB and i think that the "900MB" could be overburned to almost 1GB
here is the link

good luck.. heh over burning is dangerous..i wouldn't recommend trying to overburn 1502304204234 GB onto a 700 MB cd :P..u can screw ur burner up..altho i've been fortunate and never have

A few tips on over burning

the main reason a lot of burners can't over burn is that the laser can reach that far on the carriage. Also if you do get it working, you have a 1 in 10 chance that the thing will fail on you and the laser carriage will become jammed.
Going over by 30mb on a 700mb CD-R is possible and the risk factor is very low. However going for a CD-R that supports 800mb will possibly work, but has a high risk factor in causing failure of your drive. Unless I'm not mistaken, the newer double density disks will need a newer laser (meaning that not all burners will be compatible with it) and even if your burner is compatible with the double density specifications, the manufacturer has to release a firmware update for it.
