i think it would be a big invasion of privacy to have microsoft know what files came from your computer
mayb if were lucky oshama will get pissed by how much his win 98 comps crash and he'll target bill gates and do the world a big favour

What.. the.. f-k?
If Micro**** tries to impliment a system like this, they're almost guarnteed to fail. All a person would have to do is upload an acceptable binary to the servers..
Seriously. If they did this, people would be in an uproar and it'd die.

well it sounds pretty farfetched to me.
If Palladium is what that article says it is, and does what that article says it will do, there's no way that can be legal. Hardware chip on the CPU? WTF is up with that? talk about monopoly, and controlling what you do, talk about dictatorship.
so i doubt the Justice Department would let that continue, if they are looking after microsoft the way they are now, just for this AntiTrust stuff, this is a whole new level is MicroSoft stupidness.

no **** ...
they know about every file on ur comp ... and they can delete it if they dont like it! WTF i see something very wrong ... and wtf happens when these servers go down or they get lagged to the **** ... like proccessing how many ****in peoples "digital signatures" geez. And there gonna send software developers out of business! How many companies can afford that certificate ???
The only way out of this is if people dont adopt the new MS .. people need to know about this !!!!

This is old news. Several people have dismissed my comments regarding the government/companies becoming more and more oppressive. The outlook for the NASDAQ looks bleak since the gov/corps are collaborating against the public. There will be viable stocks, such as companies who develop privacy and alternative software.
If you don't support MS's upcoming plans, DON'T buy their software! 98SE is a decent OS and definitly the last MS OS I will ever have on one of my comps.

Big Brother is being trained...
Big Brother is not just something that might happen one day...
Big Brother is not a fictional movie anymore
Big Brother is knocking on OUR doors
DONT TAKE THIS STUFF LIGHTLY!
Thats what the gov and ms is hoping you will do, is say "oh, it will never happen... the ppl will never stand for it!"
after a certain point, the "People" dont matter anymore.
With everything thats coming down, do you actually think the gov is going to NOT take advantage of this? This being 911, "National Security" I know they will

Microsoft and the U.S. government do NOT control the entire planet. There are governments of a few countries right now changing from Windows to Linux, or Unix flavors (and many other considering it), for all thier computing needs.
There is no way, even if MS does go ahead with these plans, that they will work in the way that article explained it.

No way in hell that will be allowed.. no fricking way...
If it came to the point where I HAVE to buy a computer related product by only Microsoft I would simply find something else to do.

what if you don't have an internet connection?
the majority of people on this planet using computers at home still don't have an internet connection at all, and if they do it's mostly still dial up, which means not always on...

how about we re-created the net with a new OS .. or use linux ... but w/o MS **** ... we can be as powerful as MS ... if websites use MS and some use Linux ... they are both not compatible ... and one will have to give way ... i wonder which one the majority will hold ? Maby after people see how MS and the govt are controlling them they will find an alternative way to MS ?

Like Norm said and one of the dudes in a response to the original posting on the forums... Ya It might happen but not in the for shock value, "1984" way its being portrayed in this article. It will be implemented in a more concentrated way in banks and hospitals and big buisnesses. Then at home probably on a mutch smaller scale maybe not even on mainborards but on things like nic cards and modems. And the way microsoft has to do things now you will most certainly be able to turn these options off or not install them. Lets hope so anyway.

The bottom line is people wont stand for that ****. If Microsoft tried that everyone (which I think I can saftly say that just about everyone already hates microsoft anyway) would completely abandon them, not only that but the federal government would step in, the public out cry would be insane...
