Remind me never to get drunk

Post by Brent »

my mom and sister and one of my mom's bestest friends all went to a wedding this evenning, (a close friends of my mom, her daughter, was getting married)

and they just now came home and my sister said help Barb get mom outta the car and to bed, and I said, what happen

and she said the wedding was only half way over but my mom was drunk happy screaming out loud LOUDLY in the wedding like "Go Bride!" and spreading her legs open yelling " i want sex!"

so they had to get her out of there quick, she was making a bad scene

we plopped my mom on the couch, then my sister left to go see her boy friend and Barb just left, so it is me here all alone with mom, heh, i had to drag her from the downstairs upstairs to her bedroom and help her take her contacts out and get to bed, ugh

apparently they had an open bar at the wedding and mom took advantage of the wine selection

she drinks a lOT of wine anyways, and usually drinks way to much at events like this :(

but what can you do except be there for her ya know...

You should video tape her at these parties, and have her watch them later.

this one wasn't a party, it was a wedding though

she doesn't go to partys often, she use to, and would drink too much each time

but now she doesn't go to partys regularly

just when things come up now, like this wedding

she just simply drinks to much wine, she does it here at home, and at events like that

i wasn't there at this one though

Alcohol is alcohol no matter how it's delivered. Beer, wine, whiskey. It's still the same ingredient. Alcohol. Just love her man. ;) You know...

yea man. alchol is alcohol. you saw the effects that wine did....hard liquor or 5% beer does teh same, it just takes different amounts.

if she has a wine drinking problem, she has a drinking problem. hopefully it does not affect your personal lives in a harmful manner often, only in cases like this.

my sister just called to check up on her and gave me more details about what happend

apparently mom drank 14 glasses of wine

she made a BIG scene at the wedding and embarrased Barb and my sister

she described one scene where everyone was sitting at large round tables just talking and stuff and my sister was telling them about her boyfriend and my mom just burst out saying stuff like "have you had sex with him" and "i haven't had sex in a long time i really want sex" etc.... outloud so everyone heard! the bride, everyone there!

and the most embarrasing part was when mom triped over the mother in law who is older lady :(

apparenlty no one will forget tonight and the embarrasment that my mom was :(

damnit, that is bad

man, i'm sorry brent. 14 glasses is an extreme amount....I know myself, 220lbs, if i drank that much, I wouldn't be able to stand up, lol. drinking causes more trouble then it's worth sometimes, as you can no doubt see.

i can relate to the having sex part...it's been 21 years since i've had sex...which is never, lol :(

Instant Classic!! Almost Everyone at that reception will have a kick ass story to tell for a while. Even the bride and groom will laugh about it eventually maybe even right now if they ain't uptight. :) People is people.

wow man.

Like it was mentioned, alcohol is alcohol man. What is deceiving about wine, it generally contains more alcohol per quantity than, say, beer does.

If someone drank 14 glasses of beer compared to 14 glasses of wine, the wine drinker will have more alcohol than the beer drinker.

Drinking in moderation isn't bad, drinking so much that you blurt things out like she did is. Maybe this occasion will prove to be good for her...when she finds out what she did she may decide to try and control her drinking better. There's always a silver lining...

Yeah well, the thread IS about Brent's family members and not yours, so why not create your own thread for comparative ruminations on familial shortcomings?

It's really tough when someone drinks exsessively...

You just have to be there for them and show them how much you care and need them. Sometimes it takes a very embarrassing moment to help bring a person back around.
