Wireless ????

Post by loop2kil »

im setting up my HTPC (Home theater pc) in the living room and i need to get online. i have a regular linksys router befsr41 and i was curious if this would give me access to the internet without buying anything else. i know i will need a wireless pci card but will it be a decent LAN without running wires through my attic ( u havent seen my attic :) ). i would like to use it for movie file transfers, surfing and maybe do some online gaming.

Hate to tell ya this, but wireless networking is horrible for gaming. It leads to tons of packet loss
i'm going to become rich and famous after i invent a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet

well im not looking to make a typical network so I can play games, I just really need to be able to access both computer at the same times and share the net connection. I would love to go with a traditional router but im hooking a laptop to a desktop, I can do my gaming on the desktop.
