You guys plan on releasing an equiv for NetGear routers, or other higher end routers? Granted Linksys marketing has put them out there in greater numbers, but some of us more demanding guys use NetGears and Netopias...

Actually I was about to post a question as to what Zyxel/Netgear Router we should start with. We are looking for the model with the best market penetration, but also is most representative of the direction Zyxel/Netgear are going in terms of market and logging capabilities. The Linksys advantage for use was all their routers use the same logging format, so we didn’t need 10 different routers for development and support is easier since they are all the same. Hopefully Zyxel/Netgear might be able to liberate a couple of their routers to us to start working with. Since the Zyxel/Netgear routers contains more information in their logging stream we are rather excited about the possibilities.

Thanks

RT314 seems to be the most common based on what I see on these forums. From what I can compare based on what I've setup and used (about 75 Linksys and 10 or so NetGears), hardware wise the NetGears are faster and more stable than the Linkys, but admin wise (telnet, web admin), they are dry as a bone feature wise. Using one now at the office on a 6 meg DSL line, was just hoping there was a logger out there somewhere to check now 'n then.

Good morning there YeOldeStonecat,

I use Kiwi logger for my Netgear RT314 but I have heard from many that the Linklogger is a great product for the Linksys.

Do you use Kiwi at all?

I know people don't like posting other board links on here but this is helpful, deals specifically with routers:

It helped me immensly with tightening up security on my Netgear, hopefully it will be useful to you since you deal a lot with routers. If you already know about the site I am sorry for the repeat.

Take care.
