Look, don't get me wrong it's good to have IE as a backup. But it's the #1 vector for PC infection. And one of, if not the top, pathway for infections via IE is ActiveX.

I personally use Opera for my main browser. I've been using it for years now and are comfortable with it. If you don't like the way Opera does things then you really should get comfortable with Firefox. It's my 2nd line browser and it actually does a few things that I like better than even Opera.

Lastly IE is for use when you trust a site but still can't view it properly in Firefox or Opera. I can't stress that enough. If you trust the site it's fine but using IE for day to day stuff is just asking to get infected.
