Air purifiers

Anyone have experience with brands/types of residential or commercial HEPA air purifiers?
This is the purple air site I use for my area outdoor levels, highly recommended:

(about an hour south of the Oregon border)
Can see maybe 1/16 mile down the highway in a 65mph zone.
Already have one filter going full blast and another on the way, curious what other west-coasters are doing for indoor air quality.

Hey Humby,
Those fires are wreaking havoc (and reeking as well!) on your coast. I hope that you are safe.
I had a HEPA at my office, a small Holmes, I believe, however I gave it to a coworker some years ago, so I have no help to offer, just well wishes...
My vacuum has a HEPA filter though!

I suppose the first step would be to upgrade your HVAC filters to HEPA ones and change them often. If you want to get fancy/do better, you can also add activated carbon filter before the regular ones for the AC.
Other than that I am not sure about the room/standalone purifiers, as far as I know they basically work on the same principle forcing air through HEPA/carbon filters.

What is this A/C thing you speak of? Outside the barn there is some discussion but I want to be on the winning side of said discussion.

Still waiting for HVAC quotes for the whole store after taking over another next door location for our shipping business (heating and cooling for both locations), thanks for the suggestion.
The home unit I have is a tower Honeywell (be quiet 'Doc) and it's been great so far for a little residential unit.
Only 170 cfm but I have a small one story house.
Run it for a couple hours in the bedroom before going to bed, then move it to the kitchen and close the bedroom door, helps a lot.
