Your mtu is off I need to know if you are on dsl or cable and it looks like you are using a router ,or you modem is comobo router modem? What is the brand of it the mtu could be stuck in there.

i dont have internet connection sharing and i dont know if it is VPN.. this is a wireless connection w/ 512kbps speed and my modem is ZTE mf600?

nope its not a USB modem.. it is connected to my NIC.

Asterisk in hop 1. Probable interference in wireless signals between comp and router.

Also, check and see if MTU, MRU is set to 1500 in the router. If there is MSS, it should be set to 1460.

High ping times at the modem in hop 2. Make sure the modem is not placed near to the router or any other electrical devices. Place it on the floor below the comp table if necessary.

my wireless modem ZTE mf600 is just above my monitor (CRT) and there's no other electric device near it. There's no MTU or MRU settings in my modem config? it is stuck in 1420 even I set 1500 MTU in TCPoptimizer. And i dont have any router?

Your ZTE is a combination router and modem. That is why your hop 1 has the router IP address of 192.168.0.1

Your CRT monitor is the source of electromagnetic interference. Power off the ZTE and relocate it somewhere else. When done, the * should disappear from hop 1 and ping times at hop 2 will probably fall below 40ms.

i already relocate my modem away from my monitor but the * is still there? how far should i put my modem away from my CRT monitor?

no coiled up cables. already put it at the top of my desk near the windows? far enough from my CRT monitor and any other electrical device. i think my modem is already defective?

That can be a possibility. Only way to check is to switch router with a friend who is using the same ISP network and then both of you do tracerts.

Call up your isp see if they could change the mtu for you ,or have them remote into the modem ,and wile you are on the line If the isp provided the modem for you see if they have any firmware updates for it.

Since it's a wirless connection isn't to much you can do for it

they don't even know what MTU is and they can't even explain about my tracert?

is there a bridge mode? pppoe mode? Some modems if you change the mode lets say routed pppoe the mtu changes automaticly.

in the modem if you see any vpn stuff disable it unless you need it for work. Vpn virtual private network.

This will not change the MTU value, but may help speed up browsing.

yeah! it works! my net is now fine in browsing.. but still got problem about streaming and downloading files? i only got 30KB/s in my 512kbps net speed?

Post your latest TCP Analyzer report. RWIN should be in the 6x,xxx only for a 512 kbps line.

Is okay as long as RWIN is set to even multiple of MSS when window scaling is off.

ToS set to 136 may suffer some packet losses. Try keeping it at 80.

also this can cause packet losses, setting this above ten is not logic. have in mind that each attempt is doubled. at least in dsl and in my country
