Potter County Free Library
M-60 A1 Abrams tank
Potter County Courthouse, downtown Amarillo
Grafitti tagged building
Amarillo National Bank Building (didn't quite process the way I expected)
I'll probably get out a little more this weekend and do some more shooting around town. There are a couple of antique shop districts downtown that I may do a little exploring in

What are you using to "touch up" these pics? They have a surreal look to them, like playing Half Life 2.

I'm using Photomatix pro, which takes multiple exposures of a single shot, blends them together so you get a wider range of highlights, colors, etc. It's a technique called HDR (High Dynamic Range).

Reminds me a bit on the effects they use on the TV show "CSI Miami".

I think I like that one the best myself...something about the mood of the photo that strikes me just right

Tank is cool

Nice shots. It's good to see what this city looks like. I've never got into HDR but maybe someday.

Thanks

I still use HDR, but I'm getting better at making the picture more realistic as to what you would see without the camera. Some of the stuff here was a few of my early experimentations with HDR learning it and getting a feel for what it can do. Some of what people use HDR for just hurts the eyes...I definitely don't go that route unless it's something that I want to have a psychedelic look to it...
Short of maybe oversaturating colors at times, I'd like to think that the pictures that I use HDR on now, have more of a natural look to them.
