ARRRG!! help please

My son's computer decided windows xp is gone. I can't even do a restore . nothing :confused: :confused:

yeah need a error message.. does it even attempt to boot into the OS or just keep cycling over and over.. need more info which requires about the same amount of effort you used to put your sentence in blue text.

i tried doing a restore with the restore discs for it and it didn't work
now all it does is ask for the first disc and never asks for disc 2 - just goes to a blue screen

Your not posting what we are asking for therefore there little we can do to even help.

Post System info, error codes or messages etc... Don't expect alot till you give this info ok.

tried to reinstall xp and now the message is no hard drive present
guess it is done for

No so.
Does it have a sata hard drive?
If so, you'll need to download the sata drivers from manufacturer and put on a floppy. At the install you'll get prompted to press F6 to load the drivers.

Check the Bios (F2 at startup) settings to make sure its selected to read from ATA and not ACHI or something along those lines...If its a Dell most likely this is the case.

I still think we missed alot of things..but really curious as to what the issue was.
