Cell phones

I'm our new cell phone guy here at work and have been given the task of drafting a new cell phone policy. I'm wondering if anyone else has done one for their company, or if they are living under one and are willing to share some of the points that it covers?
some things I've come up with off the top of my head:
damage/replacement policy
personal use
reimbursement for use of personal phone
libility waiver/use while driving

Throw them all out and tell them that nothing they do is that important.

You may won't to clarify the personal use policy for issued cell phones. If an employee receives a company issued cell phone it most cases it'll be fair game for them to use it how they seem fit unless it's "clarified" in written based on your company's cell plan.
Reimbursement for the use of personal phones can be a SOB since monthly bills have to be scrutinized meaning time wasted in the office which will cause delays in reimbursements to the employees. I would highly suggest issuing a company cell phone with said plan eliminating personal cell phone use for company business.
Now with that said if you go the route of employees using a personal phone you may find more times then not they will not respond to a call/text after business hours. I mean after all if it's their phone and they can do with it as they like, right?
If you issue cells to critical staff positions you need to document that is is part of their job description or at least amend changes to the current job descriptions stating so.
For the record I hate my cell phone as it rings 24/7 but that's the price I pay for having a Johnny on the spot position and the missions I am responsible for.

You could follow our store policy...talk on your cell phone no matter what else you're doing. Work does not come first, your cell phone does...even to the point of messing up orders left and right because you're trying to process and ship an order while talking on the phone.
Act surprised when the customer calls and got the wrong item.

I have a blackberry from work and I hate carrying it outside of work. I forget it sometimes and each time I do my boss calls

My work cell phone is only on when I'm working, M-F 8-5.

I have my own cell phone not used for work. I stopped answering my phone at work too.

I use my work phone for everything also. We have a relaxed policy to an extent. If we break it we are only responsible for a fifty dollar deductible which is fair. Also we are allowed 2000 minutes a month. As long as we dont go over that they dont care, but if you go over and are repeat offender you can get a write up. I think my highest usage has been 1200 minutes. We also have unlimited internet and text messaging.

The way we work it is this. There is a single cell (duty phone) which is rotated among support staff on a weekly basis (alphabetically). This is the after hours support number for customers.
People use their own cells otherwise and the company reimburses them the cost of their basic monthly plan up to X dollars (but no overages) with a once a month check or direct deposit. This figure is calculated on the cost of a group rate year contract at 500 minutes a month (or something like that). The company also reimburses any itemized international business calls. This works pretty well for all concerned.
The company has a cell number they know the employee can usually be reached at, the employee is getting free or subsidized cell service on their choice of service provider, and the duty phone is always covered. It's not costing the company any more than it would for a group of phones, and is usually less as they don't have to buy phones or deal with contracts or phones moving between people or phones sitting on chargers at home as opposed to being with the employee.
Sp for a week once every couple of months I have two cells. Other than that, I only have my personal cell.
