Anyone remember Jessica Lynch?

It's entirely possible that her "rescue" scene from the hospital was made up. Fradulent. As in, the solders were using blanks and there was no "resistance" efforts put up by Iraqi soldiers.

Reports claimed that she had stab and bullet wounds and that she had been slapped about on her hospital bed and interrogated.

But Iraqi doctors in Nasiriya say they provided the best treatment they could for the soldier in the midst of war. She was assigned the only specialist bed in the hospital and one of only two nurses on the floor.

"I examined her, I saw she had a broken arm, a broken thigh and a dislocated ankle," said Dr Harith a-Houssona, who looked after her.

I'll agree here.. I believe it was a hoax too I mean at the hype of everything going on there needed to be some good PR for the war besides soldiers getting killed. Hell look at all the money she is making from books and movie deal she got.. its all about the money...sell out!

Err...umm...Sava...it wasn't Jessica that staged the rescue. It was the Whitehouse and the Pentagon.

That said, they made her famous...otherwise we wouldn't be having this discussion and she wouldn't be making money on a book deal, telling the truth to good Americans about the ordeal.

That said.....seems the thing to do is to bash her now. A learned experience from our good friends at a news source and a group of talk radio shows who shall remain un-named so as to not incite the fury of 3 members and the disdain of one other...

Odd how those same news sources make a big issue out of honoring our good soldiers and then selectively mock one of them who they initially helped turn into a national hero.

Go figure.

Personally she deserves everything she gets for her service to her country. Whether or not the whole rescue thing was staged or not, personally I really don't care now.

She was media propoganda. But when you sign the dotted line for military service, they say-- you do. She probably didn't have much of a choice but to do as she was told.

Would that include fundamentalists who decry that there is a war on Christianity within Christian denominations, themselves?

Mark, the doctors who treated her, said she didn't need rescue. They were taking good care of her. As to rescue, she probably could have been rescued by one soldier in a humvee, driving up to the hospital and picking her up. Their story was on 60 minutes a long time ago.

Second.....Yes she was injured in the line of duty. The difference being her story and the Pentagons story released to the media when the rescue happened as to how bad. There are two different versions.

Third......umm...not you...or your brother...No biggie and not drama..promise. It was posted in jest.

I would guess they don't get a story right all the time but to my knowledge...they have never announced that we've found the WOMD...

They have never announced a winner before an election was over...

You certianly don't have to like them. Fox doesn't. I'd rather watch something I think at least has an air of truth to it vs something I want to hear.....

Two different subjects though.

For the record, the 60 minutes story IF that's where I watched this..(might have been another news cast) was Jessica's story, not so much their version. They did mostly interviews with the Doctors in Iraq and other tidbits. You see, she was still in the military and I don't remember much about it all other than what I've outlined. Check out Paft's link.

yeah thats what I meant to say... I know she couldn't set that up.. it was pretty much like "ohh no a captured woman in combat" so the govt took over and made it all look good. She is still kinda hot but when she talks it all goes down hill lol

It's entirely possible... but frankly the Iraqi's aren't high on my "trust these people implicitly" list. Given a choice, in fact I'd say they're kind of towards the bottom of that list.
