Poll: how much do you think it will cost?

driving down one of the local roads near my place on tuesday and noticed that the engine in my VW passat was noisier then usual. so i drive it carefully to the VW mechanic i deal with. Got a call yesterday saying basicly the supercharger is fried. To what extent they don't know yet and are looking at it as we speak.
post your guess how much this will cost me!
BTW the crappy thing about this whole situation is that I had the supercharger rebuilt last febuary
sigh so much for x-mas.....

I think he was referring to the fact that it is spelled "poll" .. but anyways..
I'd guess about 600CDN.

Your Passat has a supercharger? It should have a turbo if it's the 1.8T. Anyway those turbos can be found for around $200 or $300 plus install labor. Check some of the VW forums if you can.

Damn looking online i see supercharers for the passat in teh 3500-5000 price range. I hope you got it wrong and its a factory turbo.

P2II its a 1992 Passat G60 syncro AWD...only 300 shipped to canada at the time. its a 1.8L supercharged 8 valve 4 banger with manual 5spd.

Rebuilds they may give 90days...hopefully if they are reputable maybe he will get lucky. It doesn't seem like they did a great job if it broke down so soon. I'd definitly raise hell.

apperently my supercharger injested a foregn object...was no defect
