hello. I was taking my MB out so i can RMA it. when i took off the CPU fan the actual CPU was stuck under the FAN (coolermaster Aero 4 Lite), the lilttle handle on the MB that lifts so the CPU pins can go in place was locked down but the CPU came right out... Is that a common prob? The REAL PROB is, i tried to take off the CPU but its on there really good. Any1 every encounter this? Any1 know a way to take it off carefully without damaging my p4 CPU :/

YEs, i was able to twist it off with some force... There is some type of Thermal Paste on the CPU and FAN. How do i properly clean it out?

alcohol & cotton swabs is the best way.

go down to your local electorics /pc store & buy something called Artic Silver.

right now AS-5 is the most current.

apply a little to the center of you cpu before reinstalling the heat sink & fan.

"A LITTLE" not alot. just enuff to cover the entire cpu
surface when the HSF is compressed onto it.

without "gobs" squishing out when ur done.
