Who likes the hottest of hot sauces?

I developed a love (dependence) on hot sauce while in the Marines. It was a savior for some of the MREs and C-rats while in the field. Back then it was good Ol' Texas Pete and Tabasco, but now there are varieties out there that make it taste like ketchup. Some of the bizzare titles I've seen are:
Nuclear Hell
Armageddon
Satan' Sweat
Some of it is O.K. others are bordering on insanity.

I have this masochistic side that loves hot & spicy foods. There's a place nearby that serves up Camarones a la Diabla or something like that, and is so hot it made my voice one octave permanently lower and singed off some goatee. Good stuff!

I love hot sauce.. Second shelf down on the refrigerator door is nothing but sauces.. lol
I got a few good ones while I was in New Orleans last Oct, but I've already run dry and I can't seem to contact the company to send me more.. My favorite is called Golden Grille's Bourbon Street Hot Sauce.. it has an awesome flavor to accompany the medium bite.
There's also a local chain that was started here in Orlando called Tijuana Flats. They have a hot sauce bar inside and always a great selection.. Damn good tacos too.

I hear Daves Insanity Sauce is supposed to be fairly nuclear
(Thanks for not busting me on the "here" vs. "hear". Either that, or your slacking!

)

Just to the point that your sweating a little, but not where it's so hot you can heat your house with your ass.

I like my hot sauses with a good zip, to enhance the flavor, not to mask it or kill me. Hot is good, extreme kills good food.

Tobasco is fine with me. I throw around sweet chilli and chilli powder a bit too, that's all I really need.
I can eat a bit hotter, but I don't really like what happens later sometimes if I overdo it >_> Just because my mouth is happy with it doesn't mean the rest is.

I tried a sauce once called Acid Rain... its habanero extract that is distilled to 300% potency. I think my sense of taste was impaired for a good 72 hours...
LOL

Hot sauces are one of my favorite things!!! I am not a fan of the sauces that use the capsaicin extract because its just to burn your mouth off. I love tobasco, franks, texas petes, and many others. I am a big fan of habaneros to. One of the best sauces I have had is right
here If you love habs then try this out!!!

Love the hot sauces. I swear eating the spices keep me healthy. Placebo? Maybe.... but tasty.
There's a sauce called "da bomb" --additive only-- (found that out first hand)

I used to eat that really hot stuff. Now it's mostly Medium Hot stuff for me or less. When I order wings at a bar now it's mostly Teryaki.

Huge huge HUGE fan of hot foods. Esp Jamaican Jerk marinades and style of cooking. However, most of the Jamaican Jerk you find in the states sucks. Walkers Wood is one of the better ones I've found, and I'll be bringing back some local stuff when I go down there end of this month.

Also a great source of other hot sauces, Mo Hotta Mo Bettah, where you can find many of the insane hot sauces over 100,000 and even 1,000,000 on the calvin scale (such as Blairs Reserve)

I collect and use/eat from regular to the very hottest of sauces,
I also use and eat fresh hot peppers quite a bit too.
I make my own chile powder and hot sauces and salsa also.
I grow my own peppers too.

When I was in Jamaica a few years ago I had this Jerked Red Snapper (the fish!)....it was absolutely the best. I'd go back to just to eat the fish.

I myself usually use Dave's Total Insanity Hot Sauce, but obviously not pure, but a few drops in a meal for several people. Just to spice it up a bit, where Tabasco has too much of a taste of its own for its bite (hence you need too much of it to get your meal spicy, and it tastes too much like Tabasco).

Brother Bru Bru's African Hot Sauce is pretty damn hot. Saw it in Moro
Bay once.

I grew a bunch of habaneros myself last summer. Made a couple jars of hot sauce with it. Still have some left and its has a really nice flavor and hotter than two rats fvckin in a wool sock.

Here is a pic of a few habs I grew.

Agreed. It's not that hot, and it's not pure pepper sauce, has too much worcestershire sauce in it (or whatever it is they cut into it), kinda makes it more of a flavored spice sauce.
For situations where I feel like some mild pure cayenne pepper sauce, instead of Tobasco I'll prefer something like Franks.

I'll tell you what you do with habeneros: Get a 750ml of Meyers dark Rum, pour out about 2 cups and drink (optional

). Put 5-6 quartered habeneros, 2 fresh sprigs of tyme, 10-13 cloves, and 10-13 whole all spice berries. Let that baby sit for about 6-8 weeks and enjoy on soups, curries, whatever. It's the shiznit.
