Happy Halloween - October 30th

Just out of curiosity, did anyone eles's town/city celebrate Halloween today instead of tomorrow? Really don't understand what the big deal is, but our mayor set to day as Halloween. The hours set for trick or treat were 6-8, which would have been fine for a Sunday night. I realize kids have school on Monday (mine included), but just doesn't seem right to do it, the day before the actual holiday.

Trick-or-treat/Halloween is a weird holiday that way. Some neighborhoods around here made it on Thursday eve. WTF?

I don't even know when ours is. LOL

I think its BS...Halloween should be celebrated on the 31st..regardless of what day it falls on

i don't care when it is celebrated, or even if it is, but around here a number of church groups got upset about the idea of a pagan holiday being celebrated on Sunday. Folks seem to have forgotten the origin of many of the church holidays.

Back home in Cape Breton Halloween was observed on Saturday night just because Sunday (not religious related) the kids had school on Monday. It was an academic decision by the municipality.

When people say I'm satanic, I tell them I'm celebrating Dia De Los Muertos(SP.)

I saw on some news (either Canadian or American, probably both) but some people were upset that Hallowe'en fell on the Sunday...They felt that the day of evil would taint the holy day...

Personally Sunday night is fine for hallowe'en if monday is a pro-d day...if not why not celebrate it on saturday so they can still go out late and sleep in in the morning.
