XP help.

Post by downhill »

Seems that possibly, my daughter installed a bit of spyware earlier today..She has her own account on the puter but I goofed this morning and left mine logged on.. When I ran either Spybot or Adaware for a weekly check, one or the other of them may have foobared my installation. At least that's my thoughts...

When I reboot either I get a blue screen with this..

Stop 0x0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XEB8DE2F1,0XF7946498, 0XF7946198)

sfloppy.sys - Address EB8DE2F! Base at EB8DE2F1 Datestamp 00000000

If it doesn't blue screen...it gets to the splash screen and an info box pops up, lsass.sys something endpoint.....Can't remember the exact phrasing....

I can't use the last know good config..nothing happens.

I can get into safemode no problem but for some reason...there isn't a last known good date for System Restore.....I'm perplexed. The good news is I'm pretty much backed up...The bad news is....I'd rather not reformat if not needed.

I've done several google searches and have come up empty handed...

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be greatful. TIA..

If your getting lsass errors I'd reformat... I have run across a few systems at work and workd on them for couple hours only to reformat.

Try the fix here downhill. It appears to be from a corrupt driver.
