I did a windows update yesterday.. and I'm not fond of installing things that arent critical or I havent the first clue what they mean. However there is a Recommended update for WinXP SP1.. an advanced networking pack.. including an updated IPv^ stack supporting NAT transversal for IPv6 apps.. blah blah blah.. The like link for the info is:

I asked my cable comp if I should download it because it obviously has something to do with the internet.. and they said they normally recommend keeping your computer uptodate but on this issue they cant say one way or the other..? Idiots :/

Do I need to DL this? What does it do? I was reading it and it mentions alot about the XP ICF which I currently have off and run Norton with my router. Will DLing this make me have to use the XP ICF? Thanks for any info you can give.

you don't need it ... basically all it does is update your XP firewall to use the new upcoming IP scheme called IPv6.

Unless you start hearing about a specific Windows Update patch causing problems, then I would just go ahead and install all the updates. If you're not sure what each update means, there is always a link to read more about what issue or problem each one is supposed to remedy.
