What kind of cooling are you using on the CPU?

Man, we need info from you.

What CPU? What cooler are you using? How are you measuring the temps? Is this idle or at load?

??????

Not necessarily.

It could be a number of factors...room temperature, the kind of cooler he's using, case airflow, etc.

But unless he posts specs we'll only have wild conjecture.

once you hit 60c ur cpu is on its way to toast

Again, not necessarily.

CPUs are far more resilient than people give them credit for.

I have the standard cooling I guess. Its a a7v333, amd 1800xp, gf4 mx, 512 ddr 2700 ram. I overclocked to 140 and my pc is set for turbo.

You mean the cooler that came with the CPU? If you're going to be overclocking, you might try a more powerful heatsink/fan combo.

How may case fans do you have? Is the room the computer in warm?

The room is normal cool I guess its like 68c in here. Also my vcore voltage is 1.825, I can make it go lower or higher if needed. I think the case came with 3 and the processor has 1 and a heatsink.

Your core voltage is the culprit. I take it you're using an Athlon?

yes athlon..

60C is high, but not nessessary a danger zone temp. I think the best and easiest solution for now is changing your cooling. Change it to a more powerful HSF first. In my Opinion, i think unless room temperture is really extreme, otherwise it won't have a big effect on the cpu temp.

I had my friend's XP1800+ ran at 92C for 5 second and it didn't melt ;) Well, it took 4 second to boot up the bios and show the temp on his 8K3A, then 0.5 second for me to notice it's running at 92C, and 0.5 second to unplug the power cord :D
