use BB without AOLs software

Post by stevebakh »

hey hey...
i'm in the UK and i have a friend on an AOL - ADSL service. Now i'm guessing that in the US you have to use the AOL software too... i'm sure that there's a way of using AOL internet without having to use their damn software.

i don't know anything about AOL and have little knowledge of DSL too... so would someone be able to tell me or at least point me in the direction of a website that has info about using AOL BB without their crappy software. :-)

cheers

I think you are chasing your tail. If they are using PPPoE, you have to authenticate, period. Your DSL circuit is routed to AOL's router, which passes your auth to a radius of some type for authentication, which means no.
