I was just about to post something regarding this demo this morning....hehe
I'm a big fan of the R6 series, played RS regilously for years. I really cant wait for this game to come out!! If your a fan of RS, wait until you see the NEW City Street Large map!!! Looks really impressive!
"The Rainbow Six franchise is known for its action-packed game play and heart-stopping realism, and Rainbow Six®: Raven Shield will continue the tradition. Developed by Ubi Soft's Montreal studio, in close collaboration with Ubi Soft's Red Storm Entertainment, Rainbow Six®: Raven Shield features a brand new Tom Clancy storyline in which Team RAINBOW is led all over the world in a string of dramatic operations. The PC multiplayer demo is using graphic technology provided by the next generation Unreal™ engine and will feature two maps including a new version of the original Rainbow Six® all time favorite City Street Large multiplayer map, 15 weapons, many weapons gadgets and two multiplayer modes survival and team survival."

As some of you may know there is a new Rainbow Six game in the works “Raven Shield”.
Well today (nov 15) Ubi soft released a multiplayer demo of the game on FilePlanet.com
3dgamers.com is a great site where you can get screenshots, demo’s, updates and general information about just about any game without the wait that fileplanet.com has. Just like most gamers when I heard this demo was out I rushed to 3dgamers.com to download it…and this is what was found.
Click "Read More" below for full story.
“This is an official cease and desist notice. You are in direct violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
The demo file for Ubi Soft(r) Entertainment's Raven Shield is owned exclusively by Ubi Soft(r) Entertainment, and by distributing the demo file to the public you are jeopardizing an exclusive agreement between Ubi Soft(r) Entertainment and GameSpy Industries.
Ubi Soft(r) Entertainment orders you to immediately remove the file from your site, 3dGamers, as you are in violation of statutory digital copyright laws and liable for fines of up to $100,000, in addition to financial ramifications stemming from breach of contract commitments between Ubi Soft(r) Entertainment and GameSpy Industries.
This file will be exclusive to Ubi Soft(r) Entertainment and GameSpy Industries through November 21st, when you may again post the Raven Shield Demo.

Seems Ubi Soft got all butt soar over 3dgamers.com having the download for the new demo up for grabs…….why you ask??
“This file will be exclusive to Ubi Soft(r) Entertainment and GameSpy Industries through November 21st, when you may again post the Raven Shield Demo.”
Because fileplanet.com (owned by gamespy) wants you to go spend 6 hours in there queue lines to download it, or be forced into spending money and getting a premium subscription to fileplanet.com so you can download it right away. All this for a FREE DEMO!!!
3dgamers.com sent this response to Ubi Soft.
“I feel eel this is bad idea, because:
1. Gamers hate being forced through a single point of congestion, and it will affect Ubi Soft's image with them negatively if this is globally enforced. It would be in Ubi Soft's best interest to give as many gamers as possible access to the demo, not fewer. The more choices they have, the better.
2. It's apparently not globally enforced, and thus unfair towards the sites that are being targeted in this request. Dozens of sites around the world carry the demo, it's impossible to get all of them to remove the demo, and undesirable because of the above.
3. Ubi Soft's European sites carry the demo, and link to other gaming sites for mirrors, and are thus violating this agreement themselves. The Internet is global, and targetting only a few US sites in this request is discriminating. The demo was apparently first released at Ubi Soft Japan, rather than FilePlanet, that's also where we got the demo from.
In short, exclusive premieres are fine, exclusive hosting for any period of time doesn't work, and is discriminating. And the fact that FilePlanet didn't get to premiere this particular demo as planned can't be blamed on gaming sites such as us.”

HAH! Got it to work. ATi 9700 blows. Thats all I have to say. The graphics are good, but at 16 x 12 with detail at high and AA + AF all the way up it won't run smoothly. I know somebody is going to reply that their system is (which is BS), but mine isn't (2.26GHz). Besides that, its a good game, nice change from CS. That flashbang effect is wierd
