I have tryed running the home network thing on both pc's but noticed when i do this the network controller is listed as unknown

Connecting laptop to pc through home hub
Hi there I have BT home hub and have got my main pc wired to the BT home hub and my laptop wireless, both work fine on the internet but I would also like my laptop to be able to connect to the other pc as the pc has a large hard drive and all my music stored on there.
I have tryed running the home network thing on both pc's but noticed when i do this the network controller is listed as unknown , surely both should know it's through bt's home hub eh ??????
