Teamspeak 2 problem please help me!!!

Post by Malarky »

Hi. I recently did a clean sweep of my windows 98 because of adware, so i had to get everything again and i lost all my temporary settings. Before the sweep, TS worked wonderfully. I downloaded it again, and when i boot it up and connect to the server i can hear everybody perfectly with my headphones. When i try to speak, the light blinks on, but nobody can hear me. I tried local test mode and with each codec i seem to get a new kind of junk sound. I disabled my Zonealarm firewall, and i dont think its a router problem because of that fact that it worked perfectly before the sweep. I even got a new microphone, and it still doesnt work. Please help me.

Simple questions (usually my problem)

Is the mic muted?

Is the mic turned off on the headphones?

Is the mic plugged into the right plug?

Check all the microphone settings in your multimedia properties for Windows and the software for your soundcard. I had a similar situation earlier and the microphone was muted in one place or the other.

It's probably not a software problem. If the green light goes on then Teamspeak is recognizing the input.

The problem is either your mic or your sound card drivers. Try downloading and reinstalling your sound card drivers. The ad ware scanner might of deleted one by mistake.

Norton sees a dll that TS uses as a virus. It'll grab it and delete it as well. It's called keypress.dll. See if that's yer problem eh?

Well i went to multimedia settings and nothing is muted, and a buddy of mine had that keypress.dll problem with norton or Mcafree, and with it an error popped up saying cannot find keypress.dll wen he booted up TS. mine isnt like that. So im downloading the newest driver for my soundcard its a Realtek AC97 Audio if that helps anybody. Thanks for your help so far, i hope this works.

teamspeak.org has a new client version for those who have the "keypress.dll" issue.

make sure your using the " Primary Sound Device " within the TS settings. I have '97onboard sound and for somereason it wont operate properly with the other sound device used. Also make sure DirectSound is checked.
