i would say, you could run the cable easily 500 feet without any signal degradation and a 2 way splitter shouldn't introduce any noticeable attenuation to cause a signal problem.

i would suggest movin over to free weights. start out with a lighter weight so that you can build confidence in your form and get used to the difference.
