To accurately measure fast connections, a larger test file should be used. At the same time, the test shouldn't make dialup users wait forever.
Because of that, we perform a very small test prior to the actual test to estimate the client speed. Based on these results we use one of several test sizes to accurately measure the
bandwidth.
In addition, we provide "Custom tests" where the client can choose exact download/upload test sizes.
